Best known as half of the duo Chronic Flakes, Kay Sand is the result of a multi-form and constant progression which Chronic Flakes it's just one of the uncountable pieces of the puzzle.

Chronic Flakes is the turning point after more than ten years spent playing as drummer, singer and producer. These are the reasons why ecletism soon became the trademark word of this rising artist.

He really fall in love with Primus from L.A. and after 12 years characterized by deep experiences in funk/core ambients (Spyder Gonzales), ages in which he played drums, he was the main voice of the instrumental project Grammophono (band which focused its sound on house and deep-house sonorities).

After all those important experiences, Kay met Alessandro Picone best known as Alex Picone and the first seed of Chronic Flakes project found its place under the ground...

"When I met him, I really started wondering about what I really want from myself as artist. I started wondering about how interact with him and how to relate myself into the project in order to make it works better. I re-considered all my musical background, comparing and integrating it with differents beats: techno, house, funk and deep. It was really exciting to open my mind to new experiences and purposes, starting interacting with instruments and softwares"......

This new collaboration represented a brand new, incredible and rivitalizing experience for a person like Kay Sand who loves to swim into music and to play instruments! In few words, it was a decisive meeting.

This new horizons and new chances excursion, gave to the duo the possibility to gain a lot of respect from the whole Italian underground scene.

Firstly came the pop band "Planet Funk" and then the DJ and sound engineer of the band, Alex Neri.

Ocean Trax's Boss Martini didn't miss the opportunity to get in touch with the duo, giving them the chance to release on its well respected label few re-mixes.

The duo released "Ommadawn" for Tenax recordings with the remix of Guido Schneider.

Kay Sand produced "Dance Tactics EP" released by the label Mixworks of Detroit (USA), "Sweet Revenge" a co-production released by Cadenza Rec., "Furby-Floppy EP" released by Deep Moves / Bosconi and many more hits.

In his live-set Kay Sand likes to improvise with the voice, create new ideas, new loops.........HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!
